Read moreWe had a pretty typical Thanksgiving. As I’ve already reported, I drove to North Carolina last Monday, and then met friends up in Boone/Blowing Rock on Tuesday. Wednesday I stuck close to home and spent the day with Mom, and had dinner with her and some of her friends. It was overcast and rainy most of the day Wednesday.
Read moreAs I mentioned in an earlier post, I’m in Dallas this weekend and most of the coming week. The only good thing was I got to see an old friend. Robert and his lover had been previously invited to dinner at the home of some friends. I went along, and it was a very nice eveniing. They were a very nice couple, and one was an excellent cook. It was a much more relaxed and comfortable way to spend an evening than sitting in a restaurant.
Read moreThe Hurricane Center, as of 8am this morning, has moved the track for Ernesto further to the east. This is good news for us here in Tampa, as it will put us on the “backside” of this storm. This also means it will come on shore at nearly the tip of the Florida penennsula, and track over land all the way up the center of the state.
Read moreWe Floridians started paying attention to Tropical Storm Ernesto several days ago. In was forming up southeast of Puerto Rico. The early forecast tracks had the storm staying south of the islands, and gaining strength. Then it would have crossed Cuba and gone out into the Gulf headed tot he northwest…a beeline for the Louisianna coast. However, the track has shifted very close to Tampa.
