The Ultimate Result of Gay Bashing
To maintain political power, the right wingnuts continually beat the drum of hatred for Gay people. It is time for Christians and good people in this country to call out their flawed "preaching" and their vile rhetoric. These people need to know that their words and teachings have consequences. When you pound this drum loud and long enough, CHILDREN DIE.
Earlier in the week, a 21 year-old Tampa man went on trial for murdering his 3-year old son. Apparently the father, Ronnie Paris Jr., pummeled his boy to death because he thought the boy might be gay.
According to charges, Paris decided that the way to cope with this fear was to box with the child, slapping him until the boy either cried or wet himself. Once Paris threw his son against the wall.
Eventually, the boy lapsed into a coma and was rushed to a hospital. Six days later he was removed from life support and died.
This is the result of teaching people to hate.
I am another John Masters, I live in Columbus, Ohio. I was curious about anything I might find under my name and found your site.
I agree with your stand against gay-bashers. However, I perhaps put a more sinister motive on those who do this. The right wing religious movements likely consider this an important agendum. However, the politicians have taken this, same-sex marriage, and “family values” including “right to life” as a distraction and red herring. It is a very handy way to distract voters from real economic issues. People often vote against their best economic interests and instead vote for according to their stance on such red herrings. Meanwhile, their jobs and social standing are taken away. The may very well be a large shrinkage of the vast middle class. In its place will be a few wealthy people and a huge lower class just scraping by. Our society will begin to resemble South American oligarchies.
I invite any response you wish to make to me……. Thanks, Johnmasters
