Running Mate for Bush?

I see at the end of this brief article (Yahoo! News – Source: Embattled Connecticut Gov. to Resign) that John Rowland was considered as a Bush running mate in 2000. Why does it come as no surprise to me that this guy would fit in with that crowd. The Connecticut Legislature is investigating the guy for corruption and considering an impeachment.? (Sounds like a good prospect for a Bush Administration job.) -john-
